Job Description

Responsibilities: 

  • Give executive team/ partners monthly financial reports 
  • Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques 
  • Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required 
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly 
  • Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll 
  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective 
  • Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls, and most methodologies 
  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis 
  • Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals 

 

Qualifications: 

  • The ideal candidate will be highly skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative, and social skills 
  • Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines 
  • Past work in technology, analytics, and management experience is highly valued 
  • Acts on items beyond formal job responsibilities 
  • ERP experience 
  • Financial statement preparation experience required 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Excel Formulas 
  • Experience with general ledger 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of month-end closings 
  • Foundational knowledge in payroll systems for 100+ employees 
  • Strong familiarity with Annual External Audit 
  • CPA or MBA preferred, not required 
  • Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and the ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations 
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another business-related field 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred 
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
