Overview

  • Join a dynamic finance team as an Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller in a hybrid work environment.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance to oversee critical accounting functions and drive process improvements.
  • Contribute to a growing organization with over 325 employees, including 160 attorneys.
  • Leverage your expertise in legal accounting procedures to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Be part of a team implementing innovative technologies like 3E and ChromeRiver.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage daily operations of Accounts Payable, Client Receipts, and Client Trust transactions.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Staff Accountant for accurate GL management and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review general ledger journals, ensuring accurate expense coding and corrections.
  • Oversee Partner Compensation processes, including draw payments and distributions.
  • Generate and distribute financial reports to accounting and firm management.
  • Supervise staff, providing coaching, performance management, and annual reviews.
  • Assist with annual audits and financial statement compilation by external accountants.
  • Implement technological modules and best practices for operational efficiency.
  • Partner with the Director of Finance to enhance billing team operations and processes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience within legal accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of legal accounting procedures and regulations.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in 3E, Elite, or Aderant systems.
  • Experience with Chrome River, e-billing hub, and time entry systems preferred.
  • Excellent change management skills and proactive analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Immaculate written and verbal communication skills with strong writing abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to growth.
  • Law firm experience is essential for immediate contribution to the team.
