Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage daily operations of Accounts Payable, Client Receipts, and Client Trust transactions.
- Collaborate with the Senior Staff Accountant for accurate GL management and reconciliations.
- Prepare and review general ledger journals, ensuring accurate expense coding and corrections.
- Oversee Partner Compensation processes, including draw payments and distributions.
- Generate and distribute financial reports to accounting and firm management.
- Supervise staff, providing coaching, performance management, and annual reviews.
- Assist with annual audits and financial statement compilation by external accountants.
- Implement technological modules and best practices for operational efficiency.
- Partner with the Director of Finance to enhance billing team operations and processes.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience within legal accounting.
- Strong knowledge of legal accounting procedures and regulations.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in 3E, Elite, or Aderant systems.
- Experience with Chrome River, e-billing hub, and time entry systems preferred.
- Excellent change management skills and proactive analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Immaculate written and verbal communication skills with strong writing abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to growth.
- Law firm experience is essential for immediate contribution to the team.
