Job Description
Overview
- Serve as the lead cost accountant, ensuring accurate production cost determination and inventory tracking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance ERP system utilization and data accuracy.
- Perform financial analysis to support operational and strategic business decisions.
- Contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely reporting.
- Oversee physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies with plant personnel.
- Evaluate inventory for obsolescence and manage reserves accordingly.
- Provide insights into margin variances and cost of goods sold analysis.
- Support the Controller in maintaining a robust financial reporting environment.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accurate cost reporting.
- Process and post transactions related to production, materials, and revenue within ERP systems.
- Reconcile inventory reports and ensure alignment with physical inventory counts.
- Coordinate and manage annual physical inventory counts, addressing discrepancies.
- Analyze financial and operational metrics for business decision support.
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and IT teams to improve ERP utilization.
- Record plant material and labor consumption, addressing variances effectively.
- Evaluate WIP and FG inventories, managing obsolescence reserves.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of cost accounting experience; 5 years preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
- Experience managing inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Ability to work autonomously and lead cost accounting initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Familiarity with manufacturing or production environments is advantageous.
