Job Description

Overview

  • Manage property accounting functions for a diverse portfolio, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with property and asset managers to streamline accounting processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and compliance documentation.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, tenant account reconciliations, and sales tax calculations and filings.
  • Utilize property management software such as YARDI or MRI for accounting tasks and data management.
  • Contribute to the firm's strategic goals by providing accurate financial insights and recommendations.
  • Work onsite Monday to Thursday, with remote work on Fridays.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee property accounting functions, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for assigned properties.
  • Prepare loan compliance reports and variance comments for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and tenant account reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
  • Calculate and file sales tax reports in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with property and asset managers to address accounting-related inquiries and provide solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all accounting activities.
  • Utilize property management software to manage data and generate reports efficiently.
  • Support the team in achieving organizational goals through effective financial management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in property management accounting; 7 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in property management software such as YARDI or MRI is essential.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, variance analysis, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations, tenant account reconciliations, and sales tax filings.
  • Ability to work onsite Monday to Thursday and remotely on Fridays.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams.
