Job Description

Overview

  • Provide essential patient care and support in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Assist in patient intake, medical history documentation, and health education.
  • Perform laboratory tests, package labs for transport, and maintain clinic operations.
  • Support abortion services, including counseling and surgical room assistance.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and quality assurance protocols.
  • Participate in training and competency checks for new services and skills.
  • Maintain clinical skills and certifications, including Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Document patient health history and alert providers to critical information.
  • Promote efficient clinic operations and excellent patient service.
  • Assist in training new clinic staff and ensuring charge capture accuracy.
  • Provide patient-centered health education and obtain informed consent.
  • Perform laboratory tests and ensure adherence to lab protocols.
  • Support abortion services in various roles, including counseling and surgical assistance.
  • Maintain clinic cleanliness, restock supplies, and report facility issues.
  • Participate in monthly training sessions and incorporate new information into care provision.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience; 2 years preferred.
  • Certification in Phlebotomy and experience with Electronic Health Records.
  • Superior customer service and teamwork skills in high-volume settings.
  • Flexibility to work non-consecutive days, evenings, or Saturdays.
  • Experience in sexual reproductive health and rapid testing procedures.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
