Job Description

Overview

  • Provide individualized physical therapy programs for patients with acute and chronic conditions to enhance their quality of life and functional goals.
  • Work in inpatient and outpatient settings under the supervision of Rehab Services management, collaborating with healthcare professionals and ancillary staff.
  • Conduct evaluations, determine physical therapy diagnoses, and develop comprehensive care plans tailored to patient needs and recovery goals.
  • Perform therapy procedures to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities.
  • Educate patients and families about recovery processes, ensuring understanding and active participation in therapy plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient progress, modifying care plans as necessary to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes.
  • Utilize evidence-based guidelines and testing results to refine therapy plans and deliver effective treatments.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support patient care needs and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Assist in training and supporting team members, volunteers, and students in physical therapy practices.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Maintain detailed records of patient progress, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and accrediting body requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy required; Doctoral degree preferred for advanced expertise.
  • Virginia Physical Therapy license required upon hire; CPR/BLS certification within 30 days.
  • Entry-level position; less than one year of patient care experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapy guidelines and regulatory standards for effective treatment planning.
  • Proficiency in evaluating, diagnosing, and developing care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Ability to educate patients and families about therapy processes and recovery plans.
