Senior Estimator – Big Box Retail Construction

Overview

• Lead estimation efforts for large-scale retail construction projects, ensuring accurate cost projections and adherence to budgets.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop comprehensive bid packages and proposals for retail construction initiatives.
• Utilize industry expertise to analyze project requirements, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize resource allocation.
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality service.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for retail construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
• Review project plans and specifications to identify potential risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate with project managers and architects to ensure alignment on project scope and objectives.
• Develop and present competitive bids to clients, showcasing value and expertise.
• Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to maintain accurate and competitive estimates.
• Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms.
• Track project costs and budgets throughout the construction lifecycle to ensure financial control.
• Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on estimation progress and outcomes.

Job Requirements

• Associate of Arts (AA) degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimation, with preference for 10 years.
• Proven expertise in estimating big-box retail construction projects ranging from $5MM to $15MM.
• Strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, particularly in the Atlanta area.
• Excellent analytical skills to assess project requirements and develop accurate cost projections.
• Proficient in industry-standard estimation software and tools.
• Ability to work on-site and collaborate effectively with project teams.
• Strong communication and presentation skills to convey estimation results to stakeholders.
