Overview

  • Lead construction projects for a mid-sized general contractor with a diverse portfolio, including office, retail, multi-family, and healthcare developments.
  • Ensure project completion within scope, budget, and timeline while maintaining high-quality standards and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, subcontractors, and teams to streamline communication and resolve project challenges effectively.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the organization in the Detroit area through impactful leadership and project management.
  • Work closely with the development arm to align construction goals with broader organizational objectives.
  • Participate in strategic planning and execution to drive successful project outcomes and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee daily operations of construction projects, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain project efficiency and quality.
  • Implement and enforce safety standards to ensure a secure working environment for all personnel.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders and management.
  • Resolve on-site issues promptly to minimize delays and maintain project momentum.
  • Review and approve project plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance with requirements.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications in construction management preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction project management; 15 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in managing diverse construction projects, including office, retail, multi-family, and healthcare developments.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills to manage teams and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling and tracking progress.
  • Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
