Job Description

Overview

  • Develop innovative interior design concepts that meet client needs, enhance functionality, and comply with safety and budgetary guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, consultants, and clients throughout project phases.
  • Create mood boards, color palettes, material selections, lighting designs, and spatial plans to convey design intent.
  • Produce detailed drawings, presentations, renderings, and 3D models using industry-standard software.
  • Specify sustainable and code-compliant materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
  • Ensure designs adhere to building codes, accessibility standards, and safety regulations.
  • Perform site visits to monitor installation quality and alignment with design plans.
  • Stay updated on design trends, materials, technologies, and best practices in the industry.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Collaborate with clients to understand project goals, preferences, and budgetary constraints.
  • Develop design concepts including furniture layouts, finishes, lighting, and spatial planning.
  • Create detailed drawings, renderings, and models to communicate design intent effectively.
  • Specify materials, finishes, and equipment while ensuring compliance with codes and sustainability standards.
  • Prepare schedules, cost estimates, and assist in value engineering for budget adherence.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers for procurement and installation oversight.
  • Monitor project progress, perform site visits, and ensure quality and adherence to plans.
  • Present design proposals and revisions to clients and stakeholders effectively.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in interior design preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar design software.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in space planning, finishes, FF&E, and material selection.
  • Familiarity with building codes, ADA guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • NCIDQ certification or pursuit thereof is preferred.
  • Experience in sustainable design practices such as LEED is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills are essential.
