Overview
- Lead and manage the Operating Room team, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient satisfaction and optimize surgical services.
- Supervise and support Clinical Coordinators in achieving departmental goals and maintaining compliance with standards.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the department through strategic planning and leadership.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, vision, mission, and strategies in all operations.
- Oversee staff performance evaluations, learning plans, and disciplinary processes as needed.
- Assist in budget preparation and management for the Surgical Services department.
- Evaluate patient outcomes and implement improvements to enhance care quality.
- Support the educator in developing staff competencies and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage daily operations of the Operating Room, including scheduling and patient rounding.
- Collaborate with Clinical Coordinators on admission and discharge coordination to ensure smooth processes.
- Interview, hire, and onboard personnel to build a strong and capable team.
- Assess employee performance and provide constructive feedback and evaluations.
- Implement disciplinary actions when necessary, maintaining a professional and supportive environment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and specialty nursing guidelines.
- Collaborate with physicians and hospital staff to deliver safe and effective healthcare services.
- Assist the Surgical Services Director in budget planning and fiscal management.
- Monitor patient outcomes and implement strategies to improve satisfaction and care quality.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent degree required.
- Active RN license in New Hampshire or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Minimum of 3 years of Operating Room nursing experience required.
- Preferred experience in a managerial or leadership role within surgical services.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in budget planning and fiscal management for healthcare departments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to evaluate and improve patient outcomes through strategic initiatives.
