Job Description

Overview

  • The Advanced Practice Provider Educator will lead clinical education, competency development, and provide ongoing support for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure proper delineation of privileges for new and existing Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
  • Develop evidence-based standards of care, policies, and procedures to enhance clinical practices.
  • Utilize diverse educational methods, including lectures, simulation labs, and online resources, for continuous learning.
  • Support onboarding processes for new APPs, ensuring seamless integration into the organization.
  • Participate in committees, task forces, and projects to drive organizational initiatives.
  • Provide education on billing, coding, and compliance to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across the organization to achieve shared goals.
  • Maintain proficiency in anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, clinical medicine, and physical diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Educate Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners on clinical matters relevant to their expertise and department needs.
  • Develop and manage clinical competency assessments, ensuring thorough documentation and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Staff Office to maintain accurate delineation of privileges for APPs.
  • Support APPs during onboarding, coordinating with lead APPs to manage checklists.
  • Implement continuing education programs using diverse methods to enhance clinical skills.
  • Develop evidence-based standards of care, policies, and procedures tailored to organizational needs.
  • Educate staff on billing, coding, and compliance to ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Participate in organizational committees and projects, contributing expertise and leadership.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster a team-oriented approach to healthcare delivery.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree and current state licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • National certification and proficiency in procedures, techniques, and skills within delineation of privileges.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a relevant healthcare setting.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and clinical medicine.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in developing and implementing educational programs and competency assessments.
  • Proficiency in creating evidence-based standards of care and policies.
  • Commitment to supporting APPs in their professional development and onboarding processes.
