Job Description
Overview
- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients across pediatric, adolescent, and adult demographics in a dynamic healthcare setting.
- Work collaboratively with physicians and specialists to ensure high-quality patient care and effective treatment plans.
- Engage in health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education to encourage wellness and informed health decisions.
- Perform well-care examinations, including physical and gynecological assessments, and manage diagnostic and treatment procedures.
- Contribute to patient advocacy and outreach initiatives to enhance community health outcomes.
- Participate in peer review processes and case conferences to maintain and improve care standards.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies to uphold patient confidentiality and care quality.
- Act as an on-site supervisor for medical assistants, providing guidance and training to improve clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on diagnostic findings and patient needs.
- Prescribe medications and provide detailed patient education regarding their use and potential side effects.
- Complete and manage medical documentation, including forms and referrals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals for consultation and referral purposes to optimize patient outcomes.
- Supervise and train medical assistants to enhance patient care and clinic efficiency.
- Participate in the development and implementation of medical protocols and research initiatives.
- Provide health education and counseling on various topics, including chronic disease management and preventive care.
Job Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing with an unrestricted New York State Nurse Practitioner license.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience, with three years preferred.
- Proficiency in word processing and computer applications; multilingual abilities, especially Spanish, are advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
- Experience in patient advocacy and outreach programs is desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and team collaboration.
- Flexibility to work across multiple clinic locations as required.
