Job Description

Overview

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to patients across pediatric, adolescent, and adult demographics in a dynamic healthcare setting.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and specialists to ensure high-quality patient care and effective treatment plans.
  • Engage in health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education to encourage wellness and informed health decisions.
  • Perform well-care examinations, including physical and gynecological assessments, and manage diagnostic and treatment procedures.
  • Contribute to patient advocacy and outreach initiatives to enhance community health outcomes.
  • Participate in peer review processes and case conferences to maintain and improve care standards.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies to uphold patient confidentiality and care quality.
  • Act as an on-site supervisor for medical assistants, providing guidance and training to improve clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on diagnostic findings and patient needs.
  • Prescribe medications and provide detailed patient education regarding their use and potential side effects.
  • Complete and manage medical documentation, including forms and referrals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals for consultation and referral purposes to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Supervise and train medical assistants to enhance patient care and clinic efficiency.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of medical protocols and research initiatives.
  • Provide health education and counseling on various topics, including chronic disease management and preventive care.

Job Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing with an unrestricted New York State Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience, with three years preferred.
  • Proficiency in word processing and computer applications; multilingual abilities, especially Spanish, are advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
  • Experience in patient advocacy and outreach programs is desirable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and team collaboration.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple clinic locations as required.
