Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the Behavioral Health Services department, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and adherence to clinical standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance patient experience and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to foster communication and improve care coordination.
  • Oversee staffing, budget monitoring, and operational planning for the department.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards in all practices.
  • Promote employee engagement and development through coaching, feedback, and recognition.
  • Identify opportunities for service expansion and implement strategies to drive growth.
  • Maintain efficient patient throughput and optimize resource utilization for cost-effective care.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and collaboration within the department.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Monitor and manage clinical practices to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures compliant with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate patient flow and admission/discharge planning to ensure efficient care delivery.
  • Provide leadership in achieving and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience.
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and patient experience.
  • Collaborate with administrative teams and physicians to enhance services and develop new offerings.
  • Manage department budget performance, addressing variances and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Ensure effective labor management and maintain staffing levels for appropriate patient care.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; RN license mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3 years in Acute Care Inpatient Behavioral Health management; 5 years preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification required within 90 days of employment.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage a team of 24 FTEs.
  • Experience in budget management and strategic planning for healthcare services.
  • Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards in healthcare.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and accountable team culture.
  • Compassionate and resilient, capable of handling high-pressure situations effectively.
