Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee daily operations of the NICU, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
- Develop and manage budgets, financial plans, and resource allocation strategies for the department.
- Lead and mentor staff, fostering professional growth and ensuring high performance standards.
- Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Facilitate collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize patient care.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including health care quality standards.
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and recovery plans for the department.
- Lead strategic projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and service quality.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a minimum of five years of experience in clinical healthcare or business operations.
- At least four years of leadership experience, with or without direct reports.
- Active Registered Nurse License and Basic Life Support certification at the time of hire.
- Knowledge of patient safety, nursing principles, emergency preparedness, and evidence-based medicine practices.
- Proficiency in compliance management, stakeholder management, and healthcare quality standards.
- Experience in workforce planning, conflict resolution, and employee training.
- Preferred certifications include Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and ANCC certification in a related practice area.
- Strong skills in business process improvement and familiarity with Microsoft Office and healthcare information systems.
