Job Description

Overview

  • Develop and deliver educational programs for nursing staff to enhance professional development and clinical competencies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify learning needs and design tailored training solutions.
  • Utilize adult learning principles to create effective curriculum and training materials.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational initiatives using metrics and outcome measures.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts by integrating evidence-based practices and advancements in nursing education.
  • Support clinical development through policy development and adherence to professional standards.
  • Serve as a resource for nursing education program design and evaluation.
  • Promote high-quality healthcare delivery through targeted education and professional development.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify knowledge and practice gaps among clinical staff.
  • Design and implement education programs aligned with organizational objectives and regulatory guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain course curricula, training aids, and supporting materials.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and nursing leaders to ensure program relevance and effectiveness.
  • Monitor compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements in educational content.
  • Evaluate individual and group performance in clinical proficiencies and provide actionable feedback.
  • Lead professional development initiatives and mentor junior team members.
  • Represent nursing education programs in internal and external committees and partnerships.

Job Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing or related health field required.
  • Minimum two years of experience in clinical teaching or nursing professional development.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support certification required.
  • American Nurses Credentialing Center Certificate in Nursing Professional Development preferred.
  • Proficiency in curriculum development, adult learning theory, and competency assessment.
  • Strong skills in project management, quality improvement, and strategic alignment.
  • Ability to analyze clinical workflows and improve nursing practices and processes.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and consulting skills.
