Job Description

Overview

  • Perform CT and X-ray procedures under the direction of Radiologists and Supervisors, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.
  • Utilize independent judgment and technical expertise to apply ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
  • Handle contrast agents and invasive procedures with proper techniques and safety measures.
  • Provide imaging services for patients across all age groups, from newborns to the elderly.
  • Contribute to a dynamic healthcare team focused on community health improvement.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with departmental procedures and standards.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance skills.
  • Adhere to infection control, radiation safety, and workplace cleanliness protocols.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Operate CT and X-ray equipment, adhering to specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Perform venipuncture and administer contrast media with appropriate documentation.
  • Assess patients, review medical history, and prepare for imaging procedures.
  • Educate patients about procedures and document relevant information in records.
  • Ensure accurate utilization of Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and compliance with protocols.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to team initiatives.
  • Support new staff and students through training and mentorship.
  • Perform additional duties such as stocking supplies and transporting patients as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree and graduation from an accredited ARRT program.
  • Current ARRT certification and ability to perform CT and X-ray procedures.
  • Preferred two years of experience in CT and X-ray imaging.
  • Proficiency in venipuncture and handling contrast media.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with RIS and CPAC systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a healthcare setting.
  • Commitment to professional growth and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently.
  • Excellent communication and reasoning skills for effective patient care.
