Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patient care, providing both administrative and clinical support.
  • Perform semi-routine assignments, ensuring quality standards and patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Administer medications and vaccines, conduct phlebotomy, and collect specimens as per certification.
  • Maintain examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and document patient information in electronic medical records.
  • Interpret policies and procedures to complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Engage in diagnostic screening tests and ensure adherence to healthcare standards.
  • Work within defined parameters, prioritizing tasks effectively and ensuring timely completion.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Discuss symptoms with patients and obtain vital signs during consultations.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and perform phlebotomy as per certification requirements.
  • Collect and prepare specimens for diagnostic screening tests.
  • Sterilize and clean medical equipment, ensuring examination rooms are well-maintained.
  • Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records systems.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Follow standard policies and procedures, exercising discretion and independent judgment.
  • Participate in patient-facing activities, adhering to tuberculosis screening requirements.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of Medical Assistant training program.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical Assistant role.
  • CPR certification is required for patient-facing activities.
  • Experience in medication/vaccine administration and phlebotomy is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS patient experience preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus; proficiency exam required.
  • Ability to work on-site Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
