Overview

  • Lead perioperative services at a multidisciplinary healthcare organization, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency across surgical departments.
  • Oversee comprehensive surgical services including Operating Room, PACU, Outpatient Surgery, Endoscopy, and Pre/Post-Operative Services.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and clinical staff to enhance communication and performance.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and promote evidence-based perioperative practices.
  • Manage departmental staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to support safe, high-quality care.
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource utilization.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and accountability among perioperative nursing staff.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, CMS, Joint Commission, and state regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for surgical services, ensuring efficiency and safety in patient care.
  • Monitor key performance metrics such as case volume, turnover time, and block utilization.
  • Drive initiatives to improve Operating Room throughput and reduce delays.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop perioperative nursing staff, promoting professional growth.
  • Oversee ongoing staff education, competency, and adherence to clinical and patient safety standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance communication and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in perioperative services; 5 years preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical operations, patient care standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and optimize resource utilization.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
