Job Description
Overview
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures using advanced imaging technologies.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals ensuring compliance with safety protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records within electronic medical systems.
- Perform equipment quality control and calibration to ensure optimal functionality.
- Stay updated on advancements in nuclear medicine technologies and practices.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
- Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients, ensuring comfort and cooperation.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine procedures.
- Operate gamma cameras and PET/CT systems to capture diagnostic images.
- Monitor patients during procedures for adverse reactions or changes in condition.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure effective patient care.
- Maintain compliance with NMTCB, ARRT, NRC, HIPAA, and state regulations.
- Perform routine quality control and calibration of imaging equipment.
- Document procedures and patient data accurately in electronic medical records.
- Educate patients about procedures, addressing questions and concerns.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field.
- Certified as CNMT by NMTCB or certified in NM by ARRT.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- State license for nuclear medicine technology, if required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in nuclear medicine technology.
- Preferred experience with SPECT, PET, or hybrid imaging systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
