Overview
- Provide diagnostic cardiac and vascular sonography services in a clinical setting, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret sonographic data and deliver accurate diagnostic results.
- Maintain compliance with patient confidentiality and privacy laws while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Perform 2D echo with color flow Doppler exams efficiently and accurately.
- Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment and work areas, ensuring operational readiness.
- Support laboratory accreditation processes and uphold ethical working relationships with colleagues.
- Provide patient education regarding procedures and address any concerns or questions effectively.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay updated on sonography techniques and technologies.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform clinical assessments and sonographic examinations as ordered by healthcare providers.
- Utilize cognitive sonographic skills to identify and adapt procedures to anatomical and pathological findings.
- Analyze sonograms and synthesize medical history to provide diagnostic information.
- Prepare preliminary reports and communicate findings to referring providers as required.
- Coordinate work schedules to ensure adequate workload coverage and maximize efficiency.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort during sonographic procedures.
- Ensure proper patient preparation, including requisition evaluation and infection control procedures.
- Assist in training and in-service activities for other staff members as requested.
Job Requirements
- Certification in Vascular and Echo, with ARDMS and/or CCI certifications maintained and up-to-date.
- Completion of Ultrasound Technology Training at an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technician, with consideration for motivated new graduates.
- Proficiency in ultrasound equipment and techniques, along with basic computer knowledge.
- Certification in Basic Life Support and familiarity with first aid practices.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with mileage reimbursement for travel between clinics.
