Overview
- Lead strategic planning and implementation of Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, Risk, and Infection Prevention programs.
- Oversee daily operations of quality improvement, patient safety, and infection prevention initiatives.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership to ensure regulatory compliance and survey readiness.
- Develop and implement educational programs to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
- Manage personnel, fiscal, and material resources for program effectiveness.
- Support staff development and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Provide recommendations to enhance infection control and patient safety practices.
- Analyze statistical reports and monitor performance metrics for program effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Direct quality improvement programs and evaluate process changes for effectiveness.
- Conduct incident reviews and root cause analyses to address patient safety concerns.
- Supervise infection control goals, including facility design and sterilization practices.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with medical staff leadership on peer review program design.
- Develop and oversee educational initiatives to reduce infection risks.
- Manage program-related databases and IT systems for accurate reporting.
- Advocate for continuous improvement and superior patient care standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in relevant field preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience in quality, patient safety, or infection prevention.
- Three years of acute clinical care experience required.
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred.
- Proficiency in statistical process control and data analytics.
- Strong leadership and management skills to foster team engagement.
- Effective communication and collaboration with diverse organizational levels.
