Job Description

Overview

  • Support financial operations by preparing journal entries, schedules, and consolidation files for properties.
  • Assist in quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Form 10Qs and Form 10Ks.
  • Prepare financial projections for management and board review.
  • Conduct purchase price allocation analysis for real estate acquisitions.
  • Research accounting treatments and prepare detailed memos on various issues.
  • Assist in tax schedule preparation and review bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain internal control documentation and manage audit requests.
  • Prepare debt covenant calculations and investor presentation files.
  • Support executive management with ad-hoc projects and tasks.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial close entries and schedules.
  • Assist in SEC filings and related supporting schedules.
  • Develop multi-year income statement and cash flow projections.
  • Conduct analysis for real estate investment acquisitions.
  • Research and document accounting treatments for new pronouncements.
  • Prepare tax-related schedules and review reconciliations.
  • Manage audit requests and testing needs for SOX/COSO compliance.
  • Prepare debt covenant calculations and investor presentations.
  • Support executive management with various projects.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience; 7 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and SEC filing processes.
  • Experience with SOX/COSO compliance and audit management.
  • Strong analytical skills for purchase price allocation and projections.
  • Knowledge of tax schedules and debt covenant calculations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
