Job Description

Overview

  • Support the finance team with bank account reconciliations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records during a time-sensitive project.
  • Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues using transaction histories and documentation.
  • Collaborate with accounting staff to clarify outstanding items and record corrections.
  • Maintain reconciliation schedules and update internal records for current account balances.
  • Prepare summaries and status updates for management as required.
  • Adhere to internal controls and accounting policies throughout the assignment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform reconciliations for multiple bank accounts with varying transaction volumes.
  • Review deposits, withdrawals, transfers, fees, and adjustments for proper coding.
  • Investigate discrepancies using supporting documentation and general ledger activity.
  • Collaborate with accounting staff to clarify and resolve outstanding items.
  • Update reconciliation schedules and internal records for accurate account balances.
  • Prepare detailed reconciliation summaries and provide updates to management.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies during the project.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in bank reconciliations; 5 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and ledger activity.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently under tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with onsite staff.
