Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and modernize U.S. payroll operations using innovative tools and strategies.
  • Collaborate with HRIS, Finance, and Benefits to streamline payroll processes.
  • Utilize Workday’s capabilities to enhance payroll efficiency and compliance.
  • Drive transformation efforts to create scalable systems and processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for all U.S. employees.
  • Mentor and guide payroll team members to foster professional growth.
  • Support year-end processing, audits, and reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage payroll operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oversee payroll tax activities, including reconciliation and W-2 processing.
  • Administer Workday Timekeeping transactions and updates for accuracy.
  • Implement automation tools to reduce manual work and enhance accuracy.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to provide insights into payroll metrics.
  • Collaborate with Finance for accurate journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Support internal audits and system releases as the Workday Payroll expert.
  • Lead process improvements to shorten payroll cycles and improve audit readiness.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive payroll experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
  • 5+ years of Workday Payroll experience, including configuration and integrations.
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance across various regulations.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and implement process improvements.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or Workday Payroll Certification preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with reporting and spreadsheet software.
  • Flexibility to support occasional holiday or weekend work for payroll deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments.
