Job Description

Overview

  • Provide specialized medical billing services for surgical procedures within an orthopedic practice.
  • Work on-site Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, ensuring consistent availability.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and physician assistants.
  • Utilize your knowledge of medical terminology, ICD10, CPT codes, and modifiers effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing guidelines.
  • Contribute to the accurate processing of claims for various insurance types.
  • Analyze patient records and operative notes to determine correct billing codes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform surgical charge entry and billing for orthopedic procedures.
  • Process claims for Workers Compensation, No Fault, and Commercial Insurance.
  • Ensure accurate coding using ICD10, CPT codes, and modifiers.
  • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and billing regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Analyze operative notes to determine appropriate billing codes.
  • Support the team in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely billing.
  • Provide excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in all tasks.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical billing experience; 3 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in ICD10, CPT codes, and modifiers essential.
  • Experience with Medicare, Commercial, Workers Compensation, and No Fault billing.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical billing guidelines.
  • Ability to read and analyze patient records and operative notes.
  • Availability to work on-site Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
