Overview

  • Lead the finance function of a growing construction company, ensuring financial health and strategic alignment.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to establish benchmarks, KPIs, and reporting standards for operational excellence.
  • Oversee financial planning, accounting, treasury, tax, and risk management activities.
  • Drive ERP system implementation and integration with CRM and operational systems.
  • Develop pricing models and analytics to support business strategies and tactics.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements through robust internal controls.
  • Provide strategic insights for M&A activities and greenfield market expansions.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Establish financial benchmarks, KPIs, budgets, and reporting standards in collaboration with leadership.
  • Oversee accounting processes, ensuring timely and accurate period closes and financial reporting.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships to meet business obligations.
  • Implement consistent accounting policies and practices adhering to GAAP and legal standards.
  • Lead annual audits and tax preparation, coordinating with external auditors and advisors.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to protect company assets and streamline workflows.
  • Integrate acquisitions and support greenfield office expansions with strategic financial planning.
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team to achieve organizational goals.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in finance management, with 5 years in senior roles.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is ideal.
  • Proficiency in construction accounting software and CRM systems.
  • Experience with percent-completion accounting in construction/contracting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with M&A integration and greenfield expansions.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting financial information to stakeholders.
