Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the Emergency Room department, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to align departmental goals with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee daily operations, staffing, and resource allocation within the Emergency Room unit.
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing care provision to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Support professional development and training initiatives for Emergency Room staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes for emergency services.
  • Ensure readiness for trauma and emergency situations, maintaining high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise and manage Emergency Room staff, ensuring optimal performance and patient care.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures in collaboration with hospital leadership.
  • Monitor patient care quality and clinical outcomes, addressing areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate staffing schedules to meet patient care demands and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to nursing staff, fostering professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and departmental operations.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness planning and training activities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; actively pursuing BSN completion within two years acceptable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care leadership experience in Emergency Department settings.
  • Current registered nurse license in the state of practice or active compact license.
  • Certifications: ACLS, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale, ENPC or PALS required within 90 days of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency care protocols and trauma readiness standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
