Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage daily operations of the Behavioral Health Nursing Department, ensuring efficient use of resources and staff.
- Supervise and support House Supervisors and Charge Nurses in their roles.
- Implement and monitor compliance with healthcare standards and safety protocols.
- Coordinate staff scheduling and training to meet departmental needs effectively.
- Lead initiatives to improve patient care quality and satisfaction within the unit.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure integrated care delivery and operational alignment.
- Facilitate crisis intervention training and cardiac life support certification for staff.
- Monitor and report on departmental performance metrics to hospital leadership.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nursing Manager or equivalent in an acute care Behavioral Health Unit.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and patient care excellence.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards applicable to behavioral health units.
- Effective communication and organizational skills to manage departmental operations.
