Overview

  • Coordinate and oversee nursing care delivery, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care across all age groups.
  • Utilize effective communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Assess, plan, and implement patient treatment based on developmental and biopsychosocial needs.
  • Demonstrate competency in interpreting patient behavior and cognitive processes.
  • Maintain compliance with nursing and healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient care quality.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage and delegate nursing tasks effectively within the clinical team.
  • Coordinate patient care plans and ensure proper implementation.
  • Conduct patient assessments and monitor treatment progress.
  • Provide guidance and support to nursing staff to maintain high standards of care.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient care activities and outcomes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of nursing experience; neurological experience preferred.
  • New York State Registered Nurse licensure required.
  • Certification in Multiple Sclerosis Nursing (MSCN) to be obtained within 2 years of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to assess and interpret patient needs based on cognitive and cultural factors.
