Overview

  • Lead the midwifery program at a top healthcare organization, ensuring exceptional maternal and neonatal care delivery.
  • Coordinate midwifery services across departments, fostering collaboration and integration for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based protocols aligned with clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Supervise and mentor midwifery staff, promoting professional growth and adherence to best practices.
  • Ensure adequate staffing coverage, managing schedules and overseeing operational efficiency.
  • Champion patient-centered care, advocating for maternal and family needs within the healthcare system.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance care delivery and improve patient outcomes.
  • Manage departmental budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation for sustained high-quality care.
  • Represent the midwifery program in community outreach initiatives, promoting maternal and child health education.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate midwifery activities within obstetrics and gynecology departments, ensuring seamless operations and collaboration.
  • Develop and oversee midwifery protocols, ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines and regulations.
  • Supervise midwifery staff, conducting evaluations, disciplinary actions, and fostering professional development.
  • Ensure adequate staffing coverage, managing schedules and approving overtime as needed.
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives, monitoring outcomes and implementing improvement strategies.
  • Develop and implement educational programs for midwifery staff, including orientation and continuing education.
  • Oversee data collection and reporting, utilizing insights for decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Manage deliveries according to approved guidelines, ensuring high standards of maternal and neonatal care.
  • Participate in obstetrical clinics, providing comprehensive care and patient education throughout prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum periods.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing with specialization in Midwifery required.
  • Current licensure as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) or Certified Midwife (CM) required.
  • Certification in Midwifery by the American College of Nurse Midwives required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of midwifery experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing midwifery practices.
  • Experience in quality assurance and data-driven decision-making preferred.
  • Current DEA number for prescriptive privileges required.
