Job Description

Overview

  • Lead inpatient pharmacy operations across multiple hospitals, ensuring compliance with regulations and optimizing pharmaceutical care delivery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance clinical pharmacy services and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Manage pharmacy budgets, inventory, and purchasing to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures aligned with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor and lead a team of pharmacists, technicians, and support staff to achieve operational excellence.
  • Monitor compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and hospital policies.
  • Participate in hospital committees and contribute to strategic planning efforts.
  • Ensure accurate and safe preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of medications.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations across five acute care hospitals totaling over 400 beds.
  • Collaborate with medical, nursing, and administrative leadership to optimize pharmaceutical care delivery.
  • Lead the development and implementation of policies and procedures ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and USP standards.
  • Manage pharmacy budgets, inventory, and purchasing to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Monitor compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and hospital policies.
  • Implement and maintain clinical pharmacy services and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of pharmacists, technicians, and support staff.
  • Participate in hospital committees and contribute to strategic planning efforts.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree is required.
  • Minimum of three years of acute care pharmacy management experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance and strategic growth.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills to manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, and USP standards.
  • Experience in budget management and cost-effective operations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
