Overview
- Serve as an Intake Specialist for a pre-arraignment diversion program, conducting outreach, intakes, and scheduling participants for programming.
- Support day-to-day operations by covering the front desk and assisting visitors professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records in internal case management tools and shared databases to ensure compliance and organized documentation.
- Collaborate with court partners, defense agencies, and district attorney staff to identify eligible participants for the program.
- Provide certificates of program completion and related documentation to participants upon workshop completion.
- Participate in team meetings, community events, and outings to enhance program outreach and effectiveness.
- Engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds in a culturally-responsive manner, ensuring sensitivity to mental health and substance use needs.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct outreach to potential program participants, explaining diversion options and scheduling programming sessions.
- Perform initial intake and screening processes to assess participant eligibility and needs.
- Follow up with participants to ensure attendance and compliance with program requirements.
- Maintain organized records of outreach attempts, attendance, and project details in case management systems.
- Greet visitors, collect information, and ensure professional and timely assistance at the front desk.
- Answer incoming calls, take messages, and connect callers to appropriate staff or agencies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify eligible participants and ensure smooth program operations.
- Attend team meetings and community events to support program outreach and development.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in social services or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in social services or court settings preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills essential.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Sensitivity to individuals with mental health and substance use needs.
