Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Analyze project documents to develop accurate estimates for time, cost, and labor requirements.
- Perform detailed scope determinations and quantity surveys for diverse construction projects.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals to create comprehensive scopes of work.
- Lead discussions with subcontractors to ensure alignment on project strategies and requirements.
- Develop strategies to meet minority participation goals and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and compare estimated costs to actual expenses to refine future estimations.
- Prepare detailed responses to RFQs and RFPs to support project acquisition efforts.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and identify potential challenges or opportunities.
Job Requirements
- Associate of Science degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a commercial construction estimator, with 4 years preferred.
- Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and specifications with strong attention to detail.
- Experience in conceptual and self-perform estimating, including fieldwork familiarity.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage diverse project requirements effectively.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and analysis tasks.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including active construction sites.
