Job Description

Overview

  • Play a pivotal role in shaping the success of construction projects through precise cost estimation and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align project scopes with organizational objectives and deliver exceptional results.
  • Engage in both office-based analysis and on-site evaluations to ensure project feasibility and accuracy.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating methodologies and construction practices within a dynamic environment.
  • Uphold high standards of professionalism, ethical behavior, and excellence in all aspects of work.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures across all project locations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Analyze project documents to develop accurate estimates for time, cost, and labor requirements.
  • Perform detailed scope determinations and quantity surveys for diverse construction projects.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals to create comprehensive scopes of work.
  • Lead discussions with subcontractors to ensure alignment on project strategies and requirements.
  • Develop strategies to meet minority participation goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and compare estimated costs to actual expenses to refine future estimations.
  • Prepare detailed responses to RFQs and RFPs to support project acquisition efforts.
  • Conduct site visits to assess conditions and identify potential challenges or opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Science degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a commercial construction estimator, with 4 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and specifications with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in conceptual and self-perform estimating, including fieldwork familiarity.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage diverse project requirements effectively.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and analysis tasks.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including active construction sites.
  • Commitment to professionalism, ethical conduct, and maintaining high-performance standards.
