Overview

  • Lead tax provision processes under ASC 740, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate on mergers and acquisitions tax strategies to optimize organizational financial outcomes.
  • Provide expertise in tax return preparation and filing processes, utilizing HPK software.
  • Work remotely, focusing on tri-state area requirements and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support strategic decision-making through detailed tax analysis and reporting insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align tax strategies with organizational goals.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members in tax-related matters.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage tax provision processes, ensuring compliance with ASC 740 standards and accuracy in reporting.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies for mergers and acquisitions, optimizing financial outcomes.
  • Oversee tax return preparation and filing, utilizing HPK software effectively.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and consultants to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Analyze and interpret tax laws and regulations, providing actionable insights to the organization.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of tax-related activities and processes.
  • Provide training and support to staff on tax-related matters and software usage.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on organizational operations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax filings and reports.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management; 8 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in ASC 740 tax provision processes and M&A tax strategies.
  • Experience with HPK tax software and tax return filing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations, with ability to interpret and apply them.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in tax-related matters.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for remote work in tri-state area.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred certifications: CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
