Job Description

Overview

  • Coordinate and manage legal billing processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with client agreements.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and accounting departments to resolve billing issues and optimize processes.
  • Prepare and distribute billing proformas, invoices, and related reports efficiently.
  • Act as a billing advisor, ensuring transactions adhere to accounting standards.
  • Support electronic billing processes and resolve invoice rejections promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while interacting with partners, attorneys, and clients.
  • Handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Contribute to minimizing financial exposure through collaboration with accounting teams.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Generate and edit billing proformas, ensuring compliance with client guidelines.
  • Update matter and timekeeper rates, and produce timecard summaries.
  • Run client reports as requested by partners and attorneys.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing and approval.
  • Resolve billing issues by liaising with partners and accounting teams.
  • Implement client billing agreements and fee terms effectively.
  • Process electronic invoices and address rejections or reductions promptly.
  • Maintain professional communication with all stakeholders while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support billing operations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in billing or accounting-related roles.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel for billing documentation and analysis.
  • Understanding of general accounting principles and their application to billing and accounts receivable.
  • Experience with electronic billing systems and vendors, including 3E and eBilling Hub.
  • Previous experience in a law firm environment is preferred.
  • Strong math aptitude and attention to detail in billing processes.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for professional interaction with stakeholders.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all tasks.
