Overview
- Manage daily administration of benefits programs, ensuring cost-effective solutions and employee satisfaction.
- Lead communication and education efforts to enhance understanding of benefits options and values.
- Analyze data and metrics to monitor plan performance and drive strategic improvements.
- Oversee vendor relationships and ensure effective administration of health, retirement, and wellness plans.
- Evaluate plan renewals, manage contracts, and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Lead Open Enrollment activities to maximize enrollment operations and employee awareness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate plan filings and compliance.
- Provide guidance to HR team and employees on benefits-related inquiries.
- Coach benefits team to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Evaluate and enhance benefits programs by partnering with external advisors and analyzing employee feedback.
- Monitor cost effectiveness and satisfaction of health and retirement plans using benchmark data and best practices.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee administration of benefit plans to improve employee experience.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws affecting employee benefits and document findings.
- Audit benefit processes and procedures to ensure smooth operations and minimal errors.
- Lead Open Enrollment planning and execution to maximize enrollment operations and employee awareness.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure timely and accurate plan filings.
- Provide subject matter expertise on benefits-related inquiries and coach the benefits team.
- Stay current on regulatory changes and coordinate plan amendments and notices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field required.
- CEBS certification preferred for enhanced expertise in benefits management.
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in benefits management, including health & welfare, retirement, and leave programs.
- Expertise in COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, FMLA, and compliance requirements.
- Strong knowledge of employee health and retirement plan compliance and administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and contract management systems.
- Experience with HRIS platforms, with preference for Workday.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills required.
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment and provide actionable solutions.
