Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee daily operations of surgical services, including staffing and case scheduling.
- Implement strategies to optimize throughput and reduce delays or cancellations.
- Maintain compliance with perioperative standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and execute improvement plans to enhance surgical service performance.
- Collaborate with anesthesia, endoscopy, and cardiac teams for coordinated care delivery.
- Monitor and report operational metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide leadership in onboarding, coaching, and performance management of staff.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols and surgical safety practices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; active RN license mandatory.
- Minimum 3 years of perioperative RN experience; 5 years preferred.
- At least 2 years of leadership experience in surgical services.
- Familiarity with cardiac and specialty procedural workflows highly valued.
- Certification in CNOR and ACLS preferred for enhanced qualification.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage operational challenges.
- Strong knowledge of perioperative standards and infection prevention practices.
- Experience in data-driven performance improvement initiatives.
