Job Description

Overview

  • Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to healthcare standards and regulations.
  • Oversee medical care quality and documentation practices across residential facilities.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement effective healthcare plans.
  • Facilitate health education and training programs for staff on compliance and care practices.
  • Participate in committees to drive continuous improvement in healthcare services.
  • Ensure timely acquisition of consents and compliance with mandated procedures.
  • Maintain flexible availability for on-call responsibilities and urgent healthcare needs.
  • Support medication reviews and ensure proper documentation for residential facilities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise nursing staff to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
  • Manage and maintain accurate medical records and documentation practices.
  • Conduct training sessions on infection control, OSHA guidelines, and AMAP certification.
  • Collaborate with residential teams to address medical needs effectively.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to develop healthcare plans for residents.
  • Ensure compliance with timelines for consents and mandated procedures.
  • Oversee quarterly medication reviews and address healthcare concerns promptly.
  • Contribute to organizational committees focused on healthcare quality improvement.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and current NYS RN license required.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience and 2 years of management oversight of medical personnel.
  • Knowledge of developmental disabilities and healthcare management essential.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy and excellent communication skills necessary.
  • Experience in conducting health education and regulatory compliance training preferred.
  • Ability to participate in interdisciplinary meetings and organizational committees.
  • Flexibility to handle on-call responsibilities and occasional fieldwork.
