Overview

  • Lead billing operations for a dynamic legal organization, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and accuracy in revenue management processes.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and senior leadership to optimize billing workflows and improve overall operational performance.
  • Supervise and mentor revenue management staff, fostering professional growth and team engagement.
  • Analyze key performance indicators to enhance billing processes and reduce aged accounts receivable balances.
  • Participate in hiring, training, and onboarding tasks to ensure seamless team integration.
  • Utilize advanced e-billing platforms and software to streamline billing operations and maintain compliance.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic solutions to address billing disputes and collection challenges.
  • Ensure adherence to firm policies and client guidelines in all billing activities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Direct and oversee billing, e-billing, and collections processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements.
  • Foster strong working relationships with attorneys and staff to facilitate efficient billing workflows.
  • Monitor and address aged accounts receivable balances to improve cash flow and minimize write-offs.
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement process improvements and automation in billing operations.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to billing supervisors and revenue management staff.
  • Participate in performance appraisals, develop objectives, and drive team engagement and retention.
  • Resolve billing disputes and collection issues in collaboration with attorneys and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies and client guidelines in all billing activities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in legal billing and collections management.
  • Advanced knowledge of e-billing platforms such as Ebilling Hub or Bill-Blast.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Aderant or similar billing software.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to make informed business decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to manage tasks effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Experience in team leadership, performance management, and staff development.
