Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and supervise billing operations within a dynamic legal environment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Provide strategic solutions to billing challenges and escalations.
  • Drive engagement and development through training and performance management.
  • Foster relationships with clients to support effective billing processes.
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Prepare and analyze ad-hoc billing reports for management review.
  • Ensure adherence to firm policies and client guidelines.
  • Support the transition to managerial roles within the department.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise daily billing operations and provide guidance to specialists.
  • Resolve billing escalations in collaboration with attorneys and managers.
  • Perform prebill edits and generate complex invoices using billing software.
  • Train and onboard new hires, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions for billing efficiency.
  • Enhance e-billing processes and address disputes with vendors.
  • Collaborate with leadership to recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain strong client relationships to support billing and collections.
  • Provide feedback during performance appraisals to drive engagement.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of billing experience; 1-3 years in legal billing supervision.
  • Proficiency in Aderant, Elite, or 3E billing software preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of e-billing platforms and third-party vendors.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills for effective decision-making.
  • Ability to manage tasks under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration across teams.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional service and innovative solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows-based software.
