Job Description

Overview

  • Lead clinical operations and nursing staff at a dynamic surgery center.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and optimize patient care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance surgical efficiency.
  • Support policy development and evidence-based nursing practices.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and implement corrective action plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance audits.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to nursing and clinical staff.
  • Serve as acting Director of Nursing when required.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage daily operations of pre-op, intra-op, and post-anesthesia care areas.
  • Ensure compliance with AAAHC, Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulations.
  • Support staffing models, scheduling, and competency assessments.
  • Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia providers to optimize workflows.
  • Assist in policy development and enforcement of nursing practices.
  • Monitor supply management and cost-effective resource utilization.
  • Lead patient safety programs and performance audits.
  • Provide direct supervision and coaching to clinical staff.

Job Requirements

  • Active RN license in good standing (state-specific).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of perioperative or ASC nursing experience.
  • Prior leadership or charge nurse experience strongly preferred.
  • BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative standards and infection control.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
