Job Description

Overview

  • Lead financial operations for a dynamic construction and real estate development organization.
  • Manage accounting, finance, HR, and administrative functions across multiple entities.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
  • Implement system upgrades to enhance financial and accounting processes.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to finance and accounting staff.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for internal and external use.
  • Perform reconciliations and maintain accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with ownership to support strategic financial initiatives.
  • Contribute to the success of a team-oriented environment valuing integrity and cooperation.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee planning, implementation, and management of financial records and general ledger accounts.
  • Lead accounting activities including accounts payable, payroll, and HR functions.
  • Manage construction work-in-progress and percentage of completion reporting.
  • Ensure timely processing of financial transactions and cash flow management.
  • Prepare journal entries and perform monthly reconciliations.
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting and financial systems.
  • Respond to information requests and assist with audits.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to finance and accounting staff.
  • Support company ownership with financial insights and recommendations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Management; professional certification preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in accounting, finance, HR, and administration.
  • Construction industry experience and familiarity with job costing preferred.
  • Proven success in implementing finance and accounting system upgrades.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead and coach teams.
  • Highly motivated with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform reconciliations and prepare accurate financial reports.
  • Knowledge of tax compliance and financial regulations.
