Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as Payroll Administrator in a temporary remote role supporting payroll operations for approximately 2,400 employees across the U.S. and Canada.
  • Collaborate with a managed payroll provider (UKG) to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Handle back-end payroll processes, including data compilation, report generation, and payroll balancing.
  • Provide support for payroll-related inquiries and assist managers with timecard edits and PTO approvals.
  • Engage in payroll-related project work and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize UKG Pro Workforce Management for timecard and accrual management tasks.
  • Leverage strong Excel and Business Intelligence skills for report writing and data analysis.
  • Work remotely with IT equipment provided, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop, audit, and maintain payroll accrual and operational reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and distribute standard weekly and monthly payroll reports to Operations and Finance teams.
  • Assist managers with timecard edits and approve PTO requests for employees.
  • Respond to general employee payroll and timekeeping questions, providing accurate and timely assistance.
  • Compile payroll payment data into workbooks for submission to UKG Managed Payroll for processing.
  • Perform payroll balancing by cross-checking entries and auditing payroll data prior to payroll commit.
  • Engage in project work related to payroll operations and system enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and internal policies across U.S. and Canadian operations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) or equivalent educational background.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll administration, with 3 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in UKG Pro Workforce Management, including timecards and accruals management.
  • Strong Business Intelligence (BI) skills, including report writing and data analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and reporting tasks.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with provided IT equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage payroll inquiries and support operations.
  • Experience with payroll balancing, auditing, and compliance processes.
