Job Description

Overview

  • Provide occupational therapy services to adult and geriatric patients across multiple on-site locations.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with sensorimotor, perceptual motor, and fine motor challenges.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to achieve rehabilitation goals.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Supervise and mentor occupational therapy assistants and students.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient progress and therapy interventions.
  • Travel between designated locations to provide therapy services as needed.
  • Comply with agency requirements and maintain specified efficiency levels.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct assessments to determine patients' physical and mental capabilities.
  • Design and implement therapy programs to enhance daily living skills.
  • Evaluate patient progress and adjust therapy plans accordingly.
  • Communicate therapy procedures and progress to patients and caregivers.
  • Coordinate therapy activities with other rehabilitation team members.
  • Provide in-service training to staff regarding occupational therapy practices.
  • Consult with equipment technicians for adaptive equipment needs.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards and regulations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Certification by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Valid NYS License/Certification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational therapy.
  • Ability to travel between multiple work locations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in maintaining detailed patient records and reports.
  • Willingness to supervise and mentor assistants and students.
