Job Description

Overview

  • Contribute to the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy for patients in a dynamic academic hospital setting.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement advanced treatment plans ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain and calibrate radiation equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform equipment calibration, maintenance, and quality assurance testing to ensure operational accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists and dosimetrists to develop and review patient treatment plans.
  • Supervise specialized procedures such as SRS/SBRT and brachytherapy sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and dosimetry calculations for accurate treatment delivery.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain service continuity.
  • Participate in quality improvement and process enhancement initiatives within the department.
  • Engage in professional development activities to enhance expertise in medical physics.

Job Requirements

  • Master's degree in Medical Physics, Physics, Radiation Biology, or related field.
  • American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification or board eligibility within two years.
  • Completion of an approved residency program accredited by CAMPEP prior to start date.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in medical physics; five years preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex clinical scenarios.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
