Overview

  • Lead medication safety initiatives within the organization, focusing on error prevention and system design improvements.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance medication safety practices and reduce risks effectively.
  • Analyze medication-related safety events and adverse drug reactions to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement educational programs addressing medication safety and system enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in pharmacy operations.
  • Contribute to organizational goals by promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to pharmacy staff regarding medication safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate medication safety activities and develop strategies to minimize errors.
  • Review and analyze medication-related incidents to identify system improvements.
  • Implement interdisciplinary approaches to enhance medication safety practices.
  • Provide training and education to staff on medication safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and standards.

Job Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution.
  • Active Oregon Pharmacist License upon hire.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hospital pharmacy or equivalent residency experience.
  • Preferred 5 years of experience in a pharmacy management role.
  • Strong knowledge of medication safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical skills to review safety events and implement improvements.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities to guide interdisciplinary teams.
