Job Description

Overview

  • Lead clinical operations at a physician-owned ambulatory surgery center, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Supervise and manage clinical and clerical staff, fostering a collaborative and professional environment.
  • Develop and implement patient care protocols, nursing policies, and physician standing orders.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation regulations and guidelines.
  • Oversee resource management, including purchasing supplies and maintaining inventory within budgetary constraints.
  • Promote staff development through orientation, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, agency surveyors, and vendors to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient outcomes and organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise daily clinical operations and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate patient care activities across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
  • Manage staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for patient care needs.
  • Oversee inventory management, including controlled drugs and surgical supplies.
  • Evaluate staff performance through competency assessments and skill checks.
  • Implement solutions to improve processes and resolve critical issues effectively.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships within the healthcare community.
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility through budget preparation and resource allocation.

Job Requirements

  • Current California RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
  • Minimum three years of ambulatory surgery clinical experience as a registered nurse.
  • One year of administrative or management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of ambulatory surgery operations, including QAPI standards.
  • Proficiency in managing resources and personnel effectively.
  • Ability to adhere to work schedules and manage time efficiently.
