Overview

• Lead financial reporting for a significant commercial real estate portfolio within a dynamic investment accounting team.
• Collaborate with seasoned professionals on acquisitions, dispositions, and capital restructures for REA funds and investors.
• Provide oversight and guidance on accounting treatment, ensuring compliance with GAAP and FV reporting standards.
• Analyze financial statements and performance metrics to evaluate real estate investments effectively.
• Engage with external auditors and tax practitioners to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
• Prepare and review materials for internal stakeholders and investors, supporting strategic decision-making.
• Manage outsourced staff, ensuring adherence to responsibilities and deadlines.
• Contribute to the success of a leading global alternatives manager with innovative investment strategies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Cultivate relationships with REA investment team members, joint venture partners, and property managers.
• Conduct financial due diligence for acquisitions, collaborating with various departments and external parties.
• Reconcile and analyze differences between historical cost, tax, and fair value accounting.
• Review monthly operating results for fund consolidation and pricing, addressing reporting issues.
• Analyze financial statements and performance metrics of real estate investments.
• Engage with independent external auditors and tax practitioners for compliance and reporting.
• Prepare and review materials for business management and investor communications.
• Manage outsourced staff, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA certification with 8+ years of real estate accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and FV reporting standards.
• Experience with complex real estate investment structures and agreements.
• Proven ability to manage consultants and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
• Excellent analytical skills for financial statement and performance metric evaluation.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement and reporting.
• Ability to work on-site within a collaborative and dynamic team environment.
