Job Description

Overview

  • Provide comprehensive support to healthcare providers in delivering patient care and administrative tasks.
  • Assist in clinical services and population health initiatives under supervision of the Practice Administrator.
  • Engage patients with excellent customer service and ensure smooth clinic operations.
  • Perform patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification using electronic systems.
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-ups with external specialists and laboratories.
  • Support direct patient care activities including vital signs, phlebotomy, and diagnostic tests.
  • Document patient care information accurately in electronic medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality and healthcare regulations.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and professional work environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Warmly greet patients and guests, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Monitor patient flow and address registration and check-out processes efficiently.
  • Answer telephones professionally and schedule appointments accurately.
  • Coordinate referrals and tests, providing necessary documentation and reminders.
  • Perform direct patient care tasks including vital signs and diagnostic screenings.
  • Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Assist in campaigns and initiatives to improve patient health outcomes.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to healthcare protocols.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or eligibility for certification exam.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant in ambulatory care setting.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to handle patient interactions professionally.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and adapt to different medical office settings.
