Job Description

Overview

  • Support a dynamic legal team by managing comprehensive billing processes remotely.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements and organizational policies in billing operations.
  • Collaborate with legal professionals to address work-in-progress balances effectively.
  • Prepare, review, and distribute accurate monthly prebills to attorneys.
  • Handle client inquiries, reconcile discrepancies, and provide detailed billing reports.
  • Assist in manual and electronic billing submissions, ensuring precision and timeliness.
  • Analyze billing trends and recommend improvements for enhanced efficiency.
  • Participate in special projects and provide backup support to the billing team.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by anticipating needs and offering responsive solutions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and distribute monthly prebills, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
  • Create and revise billing formats to meet client and attorney requirements.
  • Process write-downs, retainer applications, and premium allocations with approvals.
  • Resolve electronic billing errors and validate submission setups.
  • Collaborate with departments to update client/matter files and resolve rate issues.
  • Provide monthly billing reports and prepare accruals for budget analysis.
  • Contact clients to address billing issues and improve cash flow.
  • Analyze trends to suggest process improvements and fulfill special client requests.
  • Ensure adherence to billing policies and retention guidelines.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting/finance experience required.
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems and MS Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Aderant, E-Billing-Hub, Bill Blast, and IntappTime is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to changes, and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Experience in professional services or law firm environments preferred.
  • Willingness to occasionally work beyond standard hours to meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality results and maintaining confidentiality.
